is a 501(c)3 non-profit, co-created community of Women of Color entrepreneurs. We believe Women of Color need a space to build, execute, and thrive. We need access. We need skill building. We need funding. We need collaboration. We need accountability. We need sister friends. We need a community that understands our unique gifts and the unique challenges we face. We need The 3rd.
I create spaces where people can show up as the best version of themselves: my life and my work center around community building. For 14 years, I channeled that through my work in education. I've also worked as a theater company manager, an opera artists' manager, and a mentor teacher. Most recently, I've settled into my passion, entrepreneurship and community building. My talent is putting all the right people in a space to make something special.
"May the entities we build be strong, as profitable as we'd like them to be, and above all, may they have a lasting impact on our communities."

As an activist for all things well-being, she realized there was a better way to succeed at higher levels, and it’s directly tied to you and your ororganization’s well-being. She trained herself for over 25 years to execute and deliver results in harsh environments and high levels. She graduated in engineering, led teams and organizations for some of the world’s most significant F500 corporations, and built iconic brands. She was a “do-er” who accomplished everything she envisioned. While she would not trade her career, there were too many moments that cost her peace and compromised her mental and physical well-being…and, eventually, her results. In training herself to be excellent, agile, and resilient, She had also taught herself to succeed while feeling invisible, ignored, and even ill. Your well-being is the source of your productivity, creativity, and power. You won’t truly be successful without it.

Kimberly noticed that while some of her HR colleagues hesitated to make the bold or tough recommendations that a situation required, she was unintimidated by sticky situations, driven to serve companies and leaders with the best advice and guidance for what to do next. Her willingness to address, head on, the issues at hand — along with her love of all things HR (employment law compliance, employee relations and business strategy) — led her to start her own HR consulting firm. Prescott HR was launched in 2015 to relentlessly handle all of the HR challenges, not just the easy ones.
Kimberly brings nearly two decades of experience from previous HR leadership and director positions, including at Whole Foods, Social Solutions, Maxim Healthcare Services, TEKsystems, Paychex, and Giant Food.
Community and giving back is important to Kimberly. Among others, she is the Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Howard County and the Past President of the Howard County Human Resources Society (HoCo HRS). She is also an ongoing pro bono consultant with the Taproot Foundation. Kimberly holds the Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications.
